How to Build a Stream Layout Without Design Skills

Most casino streams look cluttered for the same reason: the layout grew one source at a time. A widget here, a webcam border there, a banner someone made in 2023. Nothing was ever planned, so nothing quite lines up.

You do not need design skills to fix that. A stream layout is a grid of boxes, and there are only a handful of decisions that matter.

Decide what earns screen space

During a bonus hunt, a viewer needs to answer three questions at a glance: what is the balance, how many bonuses are left, and what multiplier is needed to break even. Everything else is decoration.

• The hunt list — the slots collected, and which ones are opened.
• The running numbers — start balance, current balance, profit, average multiplier.
• Avg X needed — the break-even target. This is the number chat actually argues about.

Use a real grid, not eyeballing

Pick a margin and stick to it. Everything sits on the same left edge or the same right edge. Two widgets at slightly different x-positions read as sloppy even when a viewer cannot say why.

The stream layout editor snaps elements to a grid for exactly this reason — you drag a widget, it lands aligned, and the whole scene stays square without you nudging pixels.

Leave the middle empty

The slot itself is the content. Push overlays to the edges and keep the centre clear. A common working split: hunt list down one side, running stats along the bottom, alerts top-centre where they cannot cover a reel.

Watch the safe areas

Kick and Twitch both overlay their own chrome on mobile. Anything inside roughly 60px of the bottom edge can get covered by a player bar. Test on a phone before you commit.

Ship it as one browser source

This is where most setups go wrong. Ten separate browser sources means ten URLs to re-add every time you rebuild a scene, and ten things to misalign.

Compile the whole layout into a single source instead. One URL in OBS, one thing to position, and edits to the layout appear on stream without touching OBS at all. A layout you can actually maintain

Build one scene properly, then duplicate it for variations — a bonus-opening scene with a bigger hunt list, a chatting scene with the list hidden. Duplicating a good layout is fast. Rebuilding a bad one every few months is not.
